Texas Shine in the News
TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION DRIVE GROWTH
FOR LOCAL CAR WASH COMPANY
In spite of the economy, Texas Shine, Inc. grows by
leaps and bounds thinking green, fast, convenient,
and affordable.
Contrary
to market trends, Texas Shine, Inc. continues to enlarge
its territory. In the midst of a stunning growth
cycle, the nine year old company will open its sixth
location at the corner of Loop 1604 and Bandera Road
this month. Doug Shoenenberger, co-owner of Texas
Shine, cites the speed, safety, quality, and convenience
his other locations have provided the community for
their tremendous success.
“We
know people are busy,” Doug states. “They don’t have
time to stand around for an hour, waiting on their car. Our whole process
takes ten minutes, and the car is clean, hand dried, and the tires are dressed. Their
valuables are safe, and they can continue doing business on the phone, in their
car.”
Each location
strives for streamlined efficiency. The Bandera store showcases the very
height of effective car wash design, with a vehicle conveyor system and soft
cloth technology. Fast Pass scanning is in the works, so patrons who
have purchased Texas Shine’s annual unlimited wash passes can simply
drive up to the tunnel and it knows the services they require.
Texas Shine’s
ownership believes great technology falls short if it doesn’t benefit
the environment as well as the consumer. Some statistics estimate the
average home washer uses about 160 gallons of water per wash. That waste
water, road grime, and chemicals can end up in nearby water sources completely
untreated. Texas Shine’s system uses only 40 to 50 gallons per
wash, utilizes 93 to 98 percent biodegradable chemicals, and recycles up to
100 gallons of water per minute. Before reuse, the recycled water is
automatically filtered of particulates and softened. That’s good
for the car, and good for the earth!
In addition to the new location at Bandera and Loop
1604, Texas Shine is slated to break ground at another
site on the corner of Fredericksburg Road and Prue
Road in mid-November. At least two more locations
are planned for 2009 in other areas of the city as
well…great news for the Shine’s investors.
Texas Shine Corporate is located in Schertz, Texas. The
company was founded in 1999 by three high school buddies,
Doug Shoenenberger, Marcus Shoenenberger, and Chris Lovelace,
who reunited in San Antonio after college. Their
first location, a full-service wash and detailing center,
opened in November, 2000, on FM 3009. Currently,
the company employs over 100 people, with the expected
addition of 20 to 30 more employees with each new location.
Texas Shine prides itself on being a responsible corporate citizen. Not
only is Texas Shine the fastest, most affordable, and highest quality wash available,
the company also gives a great deal back to the community. Among the beneficiaries
of Texas Shine’s generosity are area churches, schools, the military, Relay
4 Life, the Leukemia Society, and the San Antonio Children’s Shelter to
name a few. Texas Shine has donated over $32,300 in goods and services
in 2008 alone.
